Winter can be a tough season, especially with colds lingering around, but I’ve got the perfect remedy: Badam Gond Ki Raab! This traditional Gujarati drink is not only delicious but packed with health benefits that will help you bounce back in no time! Gond (edible gum) is an incredible powerhouse known for boosting stamina, reducing back and joint pain, and it’s especially beneficial for those with low Vitamin D. Paired with crunchy Australian almonds, which are ultra-fresh, crispy, and naturally sweet, this drink is a winter warm-up you don’t want to miss!

Steps

1
Done

Heat 3-4 tbsp of ghee in a kadhai and fry 1/4 cup of edible gum (Gond) until it puffs up, which should take about 8 minutes.

2
Done

Once it cools, crush the Gond, then mix it with 1/2 cup chopped almonds, 1/2 cup shredded dry coconut, 1/4 cup sonth (dry ginger powder), cardamom powder (elaichi), and optional 1 tsp black pepper powder. This mixture can be stored in an airtight container for use throughout the season!

3
Done

In a separate pan, heat 1/2 tsp ghee and add 2 cups of water. Bring it to a boil. Stir in 2 tbsp jaggery and let it melt.

4
Done

Add 4-5 tbsp of the prepared mixture to the boiling water. Optionally, you can add Ganthoda powder at this stage for extra warmth and flavor. Boil the mixture again and enjoy the raab hot.

5
Done

Pour the hot Badam Gondh Ki Raab into a cup and enjoy its soothing benefits, especially for joint pain, inflammation, or as a warm drink to manage cold winter days.
