Samosas are one of the most loved Indian snacks, but their mini version makes them even more irresistible! Whether it’s a party, a festival, or just an evening craving, Mini Samosas with Chutney are the perfect bite-sized treat. These crispy, golden pockets filled with a flavorful potato and spice mixture offer a delightful crunch in every bite. Paired with a tangy, sweet, and spicy chutney, they create a mouthwatering combination that is hard to resist.

Why Do People Avoid Fried Snacks?

Many people hesitate to indulge in fried snacks due to concerns about health and calorie intake. Traditional samosas are deep-fried, which increases their fat content. Additionally, store-bought samosas often contain preservatives, excess oil, and unhealthy ingredients that make them less appealing for health-conscious individuals.

However, the good news is that these Mini Samosas are air-fried instead of deep-fried, making them a healthier alternative without compromising on taste and texture. With the right choice of ingredients and cooking method, you can enjoy this delicious snack guilt-free!

Health Benefits of Mini Samosas and Chutney

These Mini Samosas are made with a blend of whole wheat flour and semolina, which makes them lighter and crispier. Whole wheat flour is a better alternative to refined flour, providing fiber and essential nutrients. Semolina adds a crunchy texture while keeping the samosas light. Additionally, the stuffing contains boiled potatoes and green peas, both rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Green peas are an excellent source of plant-based protein, while potatoes provide energy and satiety.

The homemade chutney that accompanies these samosas is not just a flavorful addition but also a nutritious one. Made with jaggery, dry mango powder, and spices, it offers a perfect balance of sweetness, tanginess, and spice. Jaggery is a natural sweetener packed with iron and antioxidants, making it a healthier choice over refined sugar. Dry mango powder aids digestion and enhances the taste, while black salt helps in maintaining electrolyte balance.

How to Make Mini Samosas with Chutney

Start by preparing the dough. In a mixing bowl, take 1 cup whole wheat flour and ½ cup semolina for crispiness. Add 1 spoon ghee, ½ tsp carrom seeds, ½ tsp onion seeds, and salt as per taste. Gradually add water and knead a tight dough. Cover the dough and let it rest for some time to allow the ingredients to combine well.

For the stuffing, heat 2 tsp oil in a pan. Add 1 tsp coriander seeds, 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp cumin seeds, ½ tsp onion seeds, and a pinch of asafoetida powder for an aromatic base. Sauté 2 finely chopped green chilies and a small knob of finely chopped ginger. Add 1 tsp red chili powder, 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp cumin powder, 1 tsp garam masala, 1 tsp coriander seed powder, ½ tsp black salt, and salt to taste. Stir well and add few chopped cashews for crunch. Mix in boiled green peas and mashed potatoes, ensuring everything is evenly combined.

To assemble, divide the rested dough into small balls. Roll each ball into an oval shape and cut it into two halves. Take one half, form a cone, and fill it with the prepared stuffing. Apply water on the edges to seal the cone and shape it into a samosa. Repeat the process for the remaining dough and stuffing. Place the samosas in an air fryer, brush them with oil, and air-fry at 180°C for 15 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

How to Prepare Chutney for Mini Samosas

In a pan, take 1 cup water and add 3 tablespoons jaggery. Boil until the jaggery melts completely. Add 2 tsp red chili powder, 2 tsp dry mango powder, 1 tsp black salt, and salt to taste. Let the mixture boil for a few minutes to enhance the flavors. To thicken the chutney, add 1 tsp cornflour diluted with water, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Once the chutney reaches the desired consistency, remove it from heat.
