Ingredients

1 cup Orange Lentils (Masur Dal soaked in water for 3-4 hours)
1 spoon Water
2 spoon Rice Flour (alternatively besan can be used)
1/2 tsp Carrom Seeds (Ajwain)
1 tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
Pinch of Asafoetida Powder (Hing)
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
Red Chilli Powder (as per taste)
1 cup finely chopped veggies (Carrot, White Cabbage, Purple Cabbage & Capsicum)
Finely chopped Onion, Green Chilli, Ginger & Garlic
Freshly chopped Coriander
Salt as per taste
1/2 tsp Baking Soda (optional)
Oil (to brush on pakodas)

Mix Veg Dal Pakoda in Air Fryer is a healthier twist on traditional deep-fried pakoras. Made by combining soaked dal (lentils) with finely chopped mixed vegetables, spices, and herbs, the mixture is shaped into small fritters. Instead of deep frying, these pakoras are air-fried until crisp and golden. The result is a crunchy and flavorful snack with less oil and fewer calories. Perfect for a guilt-free treat or appetizer!

In a mixer jar, add 1 cup soaked masur dal. Add a spoonful of water and grind it coarsely. Transfer the ground dal to a mixing bowl.

To the dal mixture, add 2 spoonfuls rice flour, 1/2 tsp carrom seeds, 1 tsp cumin seeds, a pinch of asafoetida powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, and red chili powder to taste.

Incorporate 1 cup finely chopped mixed vegetables (carrot, white cabbage, purple cabbage, capsicum), finely chopped onion, green chili, ginger, and garlic.

Add freshly chopped coriander and salt to taste. Mix all the ingredients well. If using, add 1/2 tsp baking soda and mix again.

Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper and grease it lightly with oil.

Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into small fritters (pakodas). Place them in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching each other. Air fry at 180°C (350°F) for 7-8 minutes.

After 7-8 minutes, check the pakodas. Brush them lightly with oil. Continue air frying for an additional 8-10 minutes or until they are crisp and golden brown.
