Turn Mooli Ke Patte into This Nutritious Sabzi!

Mooli Ke Patte Ki Sabzi is a hidden gem in Indian cuisine, often overlooked despite its incredible health benefits and rich flavors. While radish (mooli) is commonly used in salads and parathas, its leaves hold immense nutritional value, especially during winter. This humble yet delicious sabzi is made using radish greens, gram flour (besan), and simple spices, creating a hearty dish packed with fibre, vitamins, and minerals. With its rustic taste and comforting aroma, this dish is not just a meal—it’s a winter essential. Let’s dive into the incredible benefits of Mooli Ke Patte Ki Sabzi.

  1. Nutrient-Dense & Immunity-Boosting – Radish leaves are rich in vitamins C and B6, iron, calcium, and magnesium, supporting immunity, brain function, and bone health.
  2. Supports Weight Management – Low in calories and high in fiber, this sabzi keeps you full longer, aids digestion, and helps control cravings without unhealthy fats.
  3. Improves Digestion & Gut Health – The fiber in radish leaves promotes healthy digestion, while besan provides prebiotics that support gut-friendly bacteria.
  4. Regulates Blood Sugar – With a low glycemic index, radish leaves help stabilize blood sugar, while besan releases energy slowly, preventing spikes and crashes.
  5. Natural Immunity Booster – Packed with vitamin C and antibacterial properties, this dish strengthens immunity, while turmeric and hing enhance its protective benefits.

Recipe of  Mooli Ke Patte Ki Sabzi 

Wash and chop six small radishes, keeping the white radish and leaves separate. Heat three tablespoons of oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and asafoetida, and sauté onion and garlic if using. Lower the flame and mix in turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Add the chopped radish pieces and cook for 5-7 minutes. Then, add the radish leaves with a little water, cover, and let them soften for another 5-7 minutes. Once tender, sprinkle two teaspoons of gram flour, mix well, and cook on low heat for two minutes. Finish with a squeeze of fresh lime juice before serving.
