2 medium-sized cinnamon sticks
4 cloves
5-6 peppercorns
1/2 tsp ajwain (carom seeds)
1 tsp saunf (fennel seeds)
A small piece of grated ginger
A small piece of jaggery (or 1 tbsp honey)
1/2 tsp chai patti (optional)
2 cardamom (elaichi)
1/2 lime juice
Tulsi leaves (for garnish, optional)

Start by boiling 2 cups of water in a pot.

Let the water continue boiling until the liquid reduces by 1/4th. Once the liquid has reduced, turn off the heat.

Squeeze in the juice of 1/2 lime into the brewed mixture.
