In a pressure cooker, add 1 cup of soaked moong dal (lentils). Add 1 cup of moringa leaves (or cut drumsticks as an alternative). Add 1 small knob of ginger, peeled. Add 1 medium-sized chopped onion. Add 3-4 garlic cloves, peeled. Add salt as per taste. Add 1 cup of water. |

Fix the lid on the pressure cooker and cook up to 3 whistles. Once done, allow it to cool before opening the lid. |

Transfer the boiled mixture into a mixer and churn it until smooth. Sieve the mixture through a food strainer to ensure a smooth texture. |

Pour the strained mixture into a vessel and heat it up. Add 1/2 cup of water and mix well. |

In a separate pan, heat 1 tablespoon of butter. Add 1/2 teaspoon of carom seeds (ajwain) and 1/2 teaspoon of cumin seeds (jeera) to the butter. |

Once the seeds splutter, pour this tempering into the soup. Let the soup come to a boil, then turn off the heat. |

Transfer the soup to a serving bowl. Squeeze half a lemon into the soup for added zest. |
