Moong Dal Tikki With Beetroot Raita

Ingredients

1 cup Soaked Yellow Moong Dal
150 gm Paneer
1/2 cup Soaked Poha (flattened rice)
1 Finely chopped onion medium size
1 Finely chopped red Capsicum small
2-3 Finely chopped Green Chillies
1 Ginger small piece, shredded
a handful Coriander Leaves finely chopped
1 tbs Garam Masala
1/2 tbs Aamchoor Powder (Dry Mango Powder) or use lemon juice
1 tbs Jeera (Cumin Seeds)
Crushed black pepper to taste
Salt to taste
1-2 tbs Water if needed for blending
1.5 tbs Oil for shallow frying
1 cup Curd (Yogurt)
1 small Beetroot boiled and shredded
1/2 tbs Roasted Cumin Powder
Salt to taste
Roasted Peanuts for crunch

To make Tikkis - - In blender jar, take 1 cup Soaked Yellow Moong Dal, 150 gm paneer, 1/2 cup soaked poha, crushed black pepper and salt as per the taste.

Blend it coarsely without adding water. (If you need, add 1 or 2 tbs water).

Take out the mixer into the mixing bowl and add finely chopped 1 medium size onion, 1 small red capsicum, coriander leaves finely chopped, 2-3 green chillies, a small piece of shredded ginger, 1 tsp Garam Masala, 1/2 tsp Aamchoor Powder (you can take lemon juice as an alternative), 1 tsp Jeera (cumin seeds).

Mix everything well and shape the tikkis.

Now heat the tawa on medium flame, add 1.5 tbs oil and place the tikkis.

Shallow fry these tikkis on both the sides till you get golden color.

To Make Raita - - In 1 cup of curd, add 1 small boiled and shredded beetroot, 1/2 tsp roasted cumin seeds powder and salt per taste. - Mix everything well.

For Plating - Spread raita on the plate.

On top of that, place tikkis. - And for the crunch add roasted peanuts.
