In a pan, add 1 tsp butter. |

Into that add finely chopped 1 medium size onion, and sprinkle some salt and pepper. |

Let onion cook for 5 minutes (do not let onion get brown) and then add chopped 1 cup Cherries. Have used Cherries from US Northwest this is the time of the year we get refreshing and sweet Cherries from US Northwest. |

Let the cheery soften and then add 2 tsp brown sugar or jaggery powder. |

Let the mixture cook for further 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and then add fresh basil leaves. Let the mixture cool down. |

For Serving -Take 1 toasted bread. And spread cream cheese or hung curd or freshly made paneer or cottage cheese. (If you like, you may sprinkle some salt and pepper). On top of that, apply generous amount of cherry mixture. Sprinkle some toasted pumpkin seeds on top for the crunch. And garnish with basil leaves. |
