Take Tovar dal and cook it with 4 times water in a pressure cooker until 4 whistles. |

Strain the water from the cooked dal and keep it aside for making Osaman later. |

Prepare the chutti dal by adding turmeric powder, hing, ghee, and salt to the cooked dal. |

For Osaman, in a pan, heat ghee and add cloves, cinnamon stick, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, and curry leaves. |

Once you hear crackling sounds, add chopped tomatoes and green chillies. |

Add roasted cumin seeds powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, and salt. |

Once the masalas begin to cook, add the strained dal water and a small piece of jaggery. |

Let the Osaman boil, then turn off the heat and add fresh coconut, lime juice, and coriander leaves. Serve the chutti dal, Osaman, and cooked rice together. |
