Chana Dal aur Chawal ke Fara is a traditional and wholesome dish that originates from Uttar Pradesh. Fara is essentially a steamed dumpling, and this particular variation combines the nutty goodness of chana dal with rice.
The combination of chana dal and rice provides a balanced profile of protein, carbohydrates, and essential nutrients. Additionally, steaming the dumplings makes this dish a healthier alternative to fried snacks.

In a mixie, combine soaked Chana Dal, chopped Ginger, chopped Green Chillies, chopped Garlic Cloves, Coriander Leaves, Turmeric Powder, Coriander Seeds Powder, a pinch of Asafoetida Powder, Cumin Seeds, and Salt. |

Churn the ingredients to form a coarse dry mixture. |

Transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl. |

In a pan, heat 1 cup of Water, add a pinch of Salt, and bring it to a boil. |

Once boiling, add 1 cup of Rice Flour and combine well. Turn off the heat. |

Cover the pan with a lid and let it rest for 15 minutes. |

After 15 minutes, add a little Oil and knead the mixture to form a soft dough. |

Roll out small balls from the dough. |

Apply some oil and roll each ball thinly with the help of a rolling pin, making small puri-sized rotis. |

Place the stuffing in the middle and fold the roti in half, covering the stuffing. |
