1 finely chopped Onion

Finely chopped Ginger

Finely chopped Garlic

Finely chopped Green Chillies

finely chopped Tomatoes

1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder (Haldi)

Red Chilli Powder (as per taste)

2 tsp Dhaniya Jeera Powder

Garam Masala (as per taste)

2 cup cooked Basmati Rice (cook 3-4 hours prior you make jeera rice)

Craving that restaurant style dal fry and jeera rice? Whip them up at home for a taste that’s next level delicious! The secret is in giving it a little flame to really bring out the flavors. Serve it up with some fresh naan bread or papad for the perfect meal.

Soak Tuvar Dal & Chana Dal in water for 2 hours. |

In a pressure cooker, add soaked dal, 1/2 tsp Haldi, 2-3 Tej Patta, salt to taste, and 3/4 cup water. |

Pressure cook for 2 whistles on medium heat. |

Heat 1 tablespoon Ghee in a pan. Add 2 teaspoons Jeera, Garam Masala (to taste), and salt to taste. |

Add 2 cups cooked Basmati Rice and gently mix. Keep on low flame, then turn off heat. |

Heat 1 teaspoon Ghee in a pan. Add 1 teaspoon Jeera, a pinch of Hing, and fry briefly. Add 1 finely chopped Onion and sauté until soft. |

Add finely chopped Ginger, Garlic, and Green Chillies. Fry for 5-7 minutes. Add 2 finely chopped Tomatoes, salt to taste, and cook until tomatoes are soft. |

Tilt the pan slightly to expose the veggies to direct flame for a minute for a smoky flavor. |

Add 1/4 tsp Haldi, Red Chilli Powder (to taste), 2 tsp Dhaniya Jeera Powder, and Garam Masala (to taste). Fry the masala well. |

Add cooked dal and mix well. Add a little water if the dal is too thick. Cook until it boils 2 times. |

Heat 1 teaspoon Ghee in a small pan. Add 1/2 tsp Jeera, 2 finely chopped Garlic Cloves, thinly sliced Ginger & Onion, and Red Chilli Powder (to taste). Fry until onions are golden. |

Pour this tadka over the dal. Add finely chopped Coriander and mix well. |
