To make Basbousa batter- - In a mixing bowl, take 1.5 cup suji (semolina). |

Into that add 1/4 cup California Pista Powder, 1/4 cup dry coconut, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 Orange zest, 1/2 cup Powder Sugar, 1/2 cup + 2 tbs yogurt, 1/4 cup melted ghee or butter. |

Mix everything well and pour this mixture into a well greased baking pan. |

Before baking, with help of a knife make cuts on the cake batter. |

Bake Basbousa cake 180 degree pre-heated oven for 35-40 minutes (after 30 minutes, keep an eye on the cake, it shouldn’t turn too much brown). |

To make Orange Syrup- - In a pan take 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 Orange Juice, some Orange zest and 1 cinnamon stick. |

Cook syrup till you get couple of boils. |

To prepare the cake- - Once the cake is baked, and when it’s hot, pour this syrup on the cake immediately. |
